Brown v, B.O.E., MLK, Rosa Parks, Montgomery Bus Boycott, March on Washington, Selma, 4 April 1968. To many, that is the modern civil rights movement in its entirety. While those events are important whose iconic images seared into America's collective consciousness, the civil rights movement did not begin with Brown, nor did it end with King's assassination in Memphis. This session will use photos, audio, video, and personal narratives to explore the lives, motivations, and aspirations of the millions who worked to achieve the equality promised by the Constitution.
